Beachy Keen

I'm only 17 days away from a vacation. 17 long, very long days. Scott and I booked a vacation to Cocoa Beach, Florida with my brother and his wife to see one of the last shuttle launches in history! I'm so excited! We got a condo directly on the beach with private access basically next door the launch site so we will have first row viewing. Then I will enjoy four solid days of relaxing, reading books and working on my tan!

It can't come soon enough!

This is the outfit I'm going to wear...

Just kidding! I wish I could look this amazing at the beach.

I did buy this on sale yesterday though...

From anthro,

It's such a beautiful dress that hugs and drapes in all the right places. I can't wait to wear it to dinner one night with some brightly colored beaded jewelry.

Dear April 18th, please come fast!

This is a picture of Scott and I at Galveston beach right after we started dating. I can't believe this was almost 6 years ago!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend. I will be going to High Point furniture market tomorrow, if you'll be there please give me a shout so we can meet up!

Couch Surfing

I'm taking my sweet, slow time to pick out the perfect couch. Inadvertently this allows my youngest dog more time to get past his blanket chewing stage, so hey, it all happens at the right time huh?

So far I'm really feeling this sofa...

From Designer Sofas Direct, Madera. It has the tapered legs I'm looking for, simple lines, low armrests. But I do wish it had little wheels on the legs. I could always add them though. This baby starts at a mere $599. Not sure about shipping yet. I ordered a few swatches of indigo fabric but none of them are "the one". More options are on the way.

I really wish I could order this sofa...

From Sofa.com. But they only deliver to the UK. The color, the velvet, the wheels, the legs. It's perfect!

I am considering checking out some of the lighter blue options though. I just want to make sure my living room stays light, airy, and fresh. So I want to be very mindful of all my fabric, pattern, and texture choices.

Jenna Lyons has one in lighter blue. But then again my dogs are messy as evidenced by my current light colored couch, so maybe dark is the way to go?

Maybe an in between blue like this beauty I posted earlier. I love this color with the purple. And you know I'm a huge fan of purple!

One thing is for sure it must have some sort of velvetyness. This couch from Crate and Barrel is a micro-fiber velvet. Has anyone ever touched to know if it's nice?

But as Cote Provence reminded me, there are nicer sofas for waaaaaay cheaper than $1600. Thanks for the reality check!

Does anyone else find that when they have the perfect vision in their mind of what they want, you almost never see the perfect thing to match your vision? I feel like this all the time! Maybe I'm picky, maybe I'm particular, but at least I know what I want!

Here's some more pretty sofa pictures for your optical pleasure!

Happy hump day!

Dream Home Wish List

Scott and I plan to build our own home from the ground up someday. It will be a place where we raise children and grandchildren, where we'll retire, and where we'll spend our days growing old together. We both want a Spanish style home so I'm happy we agree there. I picture a home close to the city but far enough away to have plenty of land and mature trees. There will be a beautiful pool, a rolling lawn, and a lovely garden with a big back porch overlooking all of it.

The list of things I want to have in this dream home is phenomenal. But a girl can dream right?

#1. A huge kitchen with french doors opening to the backyard. Love this industrial stove and the tiled floors.

#2. An amazing light filled studio/office for me to work in. I plan to own my own business someday so I will need an inspiring space to work in. Preferably this space would be in a loft or a Turret. Ambitious no?

#3. Beautiful backyard, with pool, lawn, and lake

#4. Awesome terrace overlooking said backyard

#5. A place in the backyard to escape to

#6. A rolling ladder with a giant row of bookcases.

#7. A closet fit for a princess (that chair!)

#8. Every room must be filled with an impossible amount of light. Except my husband's office, it will be a cave just like he likes it.

The list of things to add to my dream home grow by the day. What's on your dream home wish list?

I may have found them...

My dining chairs that is

All 6 chairs for $100. I'm waiting to hear back on how high they are. Hopefully they won't be midgets like my last ones. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

*Edit, they are mine! Picking them up this weekend!

Dear Decor Gods/Godesses...

I really need this chandelier...

From Ebizzle

Apparently so do a lot of other people...So if you could just make sure I win this bid, I'd really appreciate it. I hate it when those assholes other people outbid me at the last minute, and I know they're using an illegal program to do too! We can call it a birthday gift?

Love forever and always,
Paisley

I Really Want an Antique Daybed

Where do I find one? I've never seen one at a flea market or antique store or on Craigslist. Is there some secret place people get them? Please help a sister out...

Even a simpler one would do...
