My New Favorite Haunt AKA You Will Die

I stumbled into an amazing place last weekend down in the design district of Dallas. If you're ever in the area, you must go to there. It's an amazing wonderland of vintage shops, the kind of street you can just park and walk door to door spending your life's fortune.

I stumbled into this place called Antiques Moderne. It didn't look like much from the outside (most places on this street don't) but I immediately became overwhelmed by all the awesomeness. I will get a picture next time as words cannot accurately describe it. 20,000 square feet of Mid-century and Hollywood Regency deliciousness. The place was so packed that the workers had to move things around so you could walk. My kind of place.

Of course, most of these pieces are authentic so this isn't what I would call a thrift by any means.

I spent some time chatting with the owner about the store. He says the stuff comes in just as fast as it moves out. They have a huge inventory turnover. He has people all over the country scouting pieces for him. Wouldn't that be an amazing job?

A lot of items with sold tags on them he had just gotten in the day before. And of course they will ship anywhere.

I forgot to ask if they do layaway. Hopefully they do, I wouldn't mind investing in something good.

Now quick like a bunny go sign up for their weekly emails full of new product. You can thank me later!

Help Charlie Heal!

Hello dear readers and happy Monday! Today I'm blogging on behalf on my friend Sarah and her family over at La Maison Boheme.

This is Charlie, Sarah's youngest son. This Charlie's story;

Charlie was born on August 4, 2010. Approximately 12 hours after he was born, he began having seizures. An MRI revealed he had suffered two strokes affecting the right side of his brain. The strokes occurred in utero. Charlie's stroke may or may not be due to another condition he has called Craniosynostosis. This is when two skull plates fuse prematurely in the womb. It is going to take years to fully comprehend what the stroke will mean for Charlie's motor skills, cognitive and language development. Only time will tell how his brain will recover from the trauma. In the meantime, Charlie has the love of his family and us - a strong network friends to help him grow and heal.

Luckily, Charlie will be receiving surgery soon from one of the best surgeons to correct his Craniosynostosis.  The downside is, this surgeon is not covered by Charlie's insurance. So today, the blogging community is coming together to let you know about a special way to help Charlie heal!

Charlie's brother, Walker, has created some very special art to raise money for his brother. We're all here today to tell you about the Help Charlie Heal Etsy shop!

I picked out some of my favorites...

Not only are these completely awesome but they come hand stitched to a card with an envelope. I know there's a mental list of thank you notes you still need to write that these will be perfect for! Not only will you cross some things off your to do list but you'll be helping out a lovely family as well!

You can also donate directly to the fund by going here!

I believe in the power of the blogging community and I believe in you, my readers, and I believe we can make a difference for this family!

I can't wait to see what awesome-ness this day brings!

TheCoveted.Com

If you like snooping around people's closets + pictures of pretty clothing and accessories then I have great news for you! Thecoveted.com has just launched a site full of inspiration and features a behind closed doors look into the closets of some of the biggest names in fashion.

<span class='fancyPhotoDesc'>This is an outfit saver.</span><span class='fancyPhotoName'>Vest, Sportmax</span>

<span class='fancyPhotoDesc'>From my dad and my brother! I was impressed when they picked these out for me and my new apartment. I like how these are a little chipped and warn, and of course, pink is my favorite color. Until I started working at Teen Vogue, I was always Mary Kate, or my family nickname, Kater. But in the fashion industry, everyone calls me MK. I can't say I ever wanted to be called MK, but now I do love it.</span>

<span class='fancyPhotoName'>Shoes, Miu Miu</span>

<span class='fancyPhotoDesc'>This photo is stunning and I feel like the dress will never look as good on me as it does in the sunshine of the window! Its Malene Birger, and my mom bought it for me at one of the only chic stores in my hometown of Milwaukee, Falcoln. It had little black bows all over it, which I removed because I liked the simplicity of the black cuffs and tiered hem. Its pretty sheer, I haven’t quite figured out how to wear it, but the image is stunning.</span><span class='fancyPhotoName'>Dress, Malene Birger</span>

<span class='fancyPhotoDesc'>The photo is of Kirsten Owen and again, is a bit of a contradiction in that the expression is so candid and the fashion is so tailored. It is completely subjective in terms of what she is doing - yelling, yawning, freaking out, over dosing. There is such a juxtaposition in this picture that I love.</span><span class='fancyPhotoName'>Shoes, Prada, Rachel Comey, N.D.C., Pierre Hardy, Lanvin</span>

<span class='fancyPhotoDesc'>I love adding a little sparkle to a daytime look, something that catches the light.</span><span class='fancyPhotoName'>Earrings, J.Crew; Earrings, Lulu Frost</span>

Is is just me or do you want to see more of their houses too?

Oh CSN Stores...

Every time I have something in mind I need I always come back to one of CSN's various online stores. Their line of products is so endless from LED Lighting, to Chandeliers, and even the Jonathon Adler line by Robert Abby. There are so many things from their website that I'd like to come live with me!

And lucky for me they've asked me to review something from one of their websites! You know I'm working on sooo many projects around my house I need all the resources I can get. I'm hoping to find something wonderful for maybe my bathroom remodel! I'll let you know what I choose!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

Stylist Twig Hutchinson

I recently came across stylist Twig Hutchinson thanks to my friend Jennifer and I am smitten! She is the force behind many lovely pictures you are already familiar with...

...just to name a few.

But her website is full of so many gorgeous images it's hard to choose my favorites to share with you!

Obviously the dancer in me loves this image. I wish I could buy a print and hang it as artwork. It would look lovely in my master bedroom.

Love the artist at work type of shots. I always love to see photos from behind the scenes of a photo, that makes sense right? I guess it's the process of creation that I find interesting.

I could just imagine my girls and I spending the night here around the campfire, roasting marshmellows and watching for shooting stars.

Awesome.

I just love her style. It seems so natural and not overly styled. She has even been commisioned to design stores as well. Check out her website for more lovely inspiration!

Have a great weekend everyone, and for my American readers enjoy your holiday!
