Dear Decor Gods/Godesses...

I really need this chandelier...

From Ebizzle

Apparently so do a lot of other people...So if you could just make sure I win this bid, I'd really appreciate it. I hate it when those assholes other people outbid me at the last minute, and I know they're using an illegal program to do too! We can call it a birthday gift?

Love forever and always,
Paisley

Currently Obsessed With; Dining Chairs

Since I seem to be obsessed with so many things these days I thought I would start this as a series on my blog. Current obsession, dining chairs!

I've been faithfully checking CL everyday looking for the perfect chairs but so far no dice. My dining room is almost complete and everything else I want has been chosen except for this crucial element. I know I said I would buy these chairs from my company, Aidan Gray, but I really want to do a print on them and it kills me to spend the money to rip apart a perfectly good chair and spend more money to recover them so I'm still on the hunt. I really want a clean line so I think a King Louis chair would be perfect. It's doubtful I'll find that on Craigslist!

I've posted this before but I really love the chair on the end here. I want King Louis chairs in the middle and something more decorative on the ends.

Love the upholstered yellow chairs!

I'll take that chandelier group, thanks...

Wouldn't these be fun?

What kind of chairs do you have? Did you paint/upholster?

I Really Want an Antique Daybed

Where do I find one? I've never seen one at a flea market or antique store or on Craigslist. Is there some secret place people get them? Please help a sister out...

Even a simpler one would do...

A Texas Wedding

Scott and I had two weekends of wonderful family weddings, first his brother, then mine. It was so nice to see all our family and have time catch up with relatives we don't get to see often enough.

Scott's brother Kevin and his now wife Stephanie were married on May 29th at a beautiful vineyard in Grapevine, Texas. The wedding was designed by Steph and her mom and the theme can be loosely described as Texas-sophisticated. Everyone wore cowboy boots including the bride and the reception was in a barn. The color theme was black and white with small touched of green, always a winning combination.

Scott wore these same cufflinks for our wedding. They are from the typewriter of their grandfather.

Love the boot picture!

The evening light was amazing. Don't be fooled, it was hot!

I know some people don't but I love sun spots in a picture and this one is awesome!

They had these lanterns hanging in the trees, so pretty.

I wish I had picture of the tables to show you. They had white linens with crumpled burlap in the center with glass jars full of candles, and pretty floral centerpieces.

Congrats Kevin and Steph!

Happy Birthday...to me this time!

It's official, today I'm nine thousand one hundred and twenty five days old! You could also call me a quarter of a century old, two and a half decades, thirteen million one hundred and fourty thousand minutes, which ever way you want to put it, it's my birthday!

Guess where I'll be spending my birthday? I'll give you a hint...

That's right, New York City baby! I'll be here visiting friends and eating cupcakes from Magnolia bakery, going to not one, but two flea markets (brooklyn and chealsea) for a whole 5 days!

Do you buy yourself presents for your birthday? I sure do! I'm hoping to get myself these...

See you on the other side!

Happy Birthday Blog!

Today is the one year anniversary of Flights of Whimsy!

It's funny to think it's already been a year since I started this little blog. I've made so many friends and been so inspired by the blog community.

And it all started with this post!

You don't know how excited I get to see your comments on my posts! It means the world to me that someone reads my ramblings.

I'm flying to Atlanta and back today for work, it's going to be a long one! I feel like such a grown up traveling for work...

This doesn't have anything to do with my blog's birthday. I just bought these peonies last weekend and they are just so prettttttty!

I Would Die, Just Die

Found this gem on craigslist...

Patterned French Glass Windows
French doors front and back with a small covered porch
Front sitting room has rose marble fireplace
Included in sale is 4 chairs, a writing desk, 2 sconces and bed, all original to the wagon

Imported from the Netherlands

I wish I had a big yard so I could put this in it. It should be my office. Imagine it all bohemian-ed out with little flowers growing around it.

Oh, and I also wish I had $15,000 to buy it...

Going Up?

I have no desire to live in a two story home, I'm too lazy to hike it up and and down some stairs everyday. But if I did, oh the possibilities!

What a pretty color blue. I love the shiny white wood floors. Wish I could get a closer look at that mirror I see peeking out before the stairs!

I love Spanish style houses!

Wouldn't it make you so happy to go up and down these stairs everyday?

What do your stairs look like? I would love to see photos, let's have show and tell shall we?

Let's Find Some Beautiful Place to Get Lost

I hope your weekend has some lovely things in store for you!

Mine certainly does...

Tonight I'm performing with my girls at House of Blues.

And the rest of the weekend I'll spending in the bathroom...

You heard me right. This weekend we are finally going to demo our master bath. We have a long road ahead of us but I am so ready.

See before and after pictures of our bathroom here and here. To see what I have planned for it go here.

What are your weekend plans?

Pass the Mustard Please!

I've been seeing a lot of this lovely color lately. Popping up here and there as an accent. I personally can't get enough of it!

Hand me a tissue please, I'm drooling over this wall art...

Interesting artwork, or shall I say lack thereof...

Mustard pillows + pink rug? Don't mind if I do!

I love this mustard lamp shade!

Do you have anything this color you're coveting?
