Should I Put Something Here?

I'm having a quandary so I think it's time for a reader poll.

Here is the whole truth and nothing but the truth. This is my living room as it looks now. It needs a lot of work. It's come pretty far but I still have far to go to make the heart of our home the way I want it.

As I mentioned before, I'm building an art wall across the back. So my question is, should I put a piece of furniture on this wall?

A console, a dresser, a credenza, or just have nothing?

As I mentioned in my post yesterday, the chairs are going to be upholstered very soon. And that will be amazing. The new chair fabric will clash with the rug. I think I'm going to put my sea grass rug in here for now. I'm still waiting to find the perfect rug for in here. I need a new coffee table. Something mid-century but I haven't found "the one" yet.

This is what is on the other side of the room and no, I haven't painted the wall in that little nook yet. This little nook used to be a fancy pants mirrored 80's style wet bar.

So what do you think?

What would you do if this were your home?

Please share your wisdom!

Edit: Forgot to mention in my haste about the suzani fabric I posted yesterday. It is from my favorite store High Fashion Home. It's not listed online but if you'd like to to order just call them and ask to speak to Veronica. She's awesome and very helpful!

Hi Brandi ! I think your art wall is gorgeous. I don't think I would add a piece of furniture, judging by the space, it would be nice to leave it open. It is so airy and pretty. I would maybe add a few more smaller art pieces a bit lower. I have a funky idea I could email to you, if you like. Keep up the great work !! Here is my email....lynneknowlton@gmail.com. Cheers!!

It's hard for me to judge how much space you have there from the angles. But, if you have room for it, I totally vote for a parsons table with stools underneath and pretties on top.

But don't do it if it's going to crowd the sofa, obvi!

Ok, first, delete the anonymous hater comment. Yes, I do think something is missing in this space. Perhaps you could have a piece of furniture (even a skirted table) on the center wall with a pretty mirror and group you art on the walls flanking the table/mirror. I would take the art from knee height to the top of the molding. Elongate the wall and show off the height. Just my opinion:) Looking great so far!!

I would most certainly put a credenza or other focal piece on the wall to help ground and focus the art wall. My eye couldn't find a place to rest on the wall.I think a beautiful piece of furniture will give the eye a starting point.

How about a low bench with lots of pretties, like books and vases and such, on top? Like this one from Emily Henderson: http://pinterest.com/pin/150589181259819130/

honey, that spot is screaming for a big, hunkin credenza! get some lamps on it and bunch your artwork tighter together!

btw, the paneling looks amazing!

Agree about that ridiculous comment at the top: delete. But anyway, I do love it open and airy. You could put something like a bar cart there, or something that isn't solid, you know? Otherwise I would leave as it. Looks great!

It is going to be lovely! yes, I think it needs something to balance the weight on the opposite wall and also give heigth to the bottom part of the wall. I do like the lightness on that side at the top. Too keep the room open and not so box like in the middle with the furniture, love about a long, narrow credenza-like peice from one wall to the other. Then Fill in the gallery wall completely as you acquire art. I think you could string some likea table tops and legs along there and then trim out the whole length, even paint it.
